The remake of the cult classic Lollipop Chainsaw will now be released a few weeks earlier, on September 12th here in Europe and in America.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, the title of this new version, was already announced for September 26th for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
After initial confusion, developer Dragami Games has now clarified that RePop is a new edition of the original game by Grasshopper Manufacture, which was first released in 2012, and not a complete remake.
This surprisingly entertaining hack-and-chain-saw zombie game was the brainchild of No More Heroes' Suda51 and partially written by James Gunn, before he entered the superhero industry.

Dragami has said that this new version aims to recreate the original Lollipop Chainsaw as closely as possible – but unfortunately will not include the game's licensed music soundtrack.
Eurogamer gave the original a mixed review when it was first released:
“Grasshopper's latest is really a bit like a lollipop: it's saccharine, colourful, devoid of substance – and maybe a little bit sweet,” wrote Christian Donlan in Eurogamer's Lollipop Chainsaw review. “It all adds up to a strange game that struggles to be strange in the right way.”
